Louth Golf Club raises £1,100 for charity

LOUTH Golf Club hosted the annual joint Louth Lions and Round Table charity day at which £1,100 was raised.
There was the usual good turn out for the stableford competition organized by Rob Mantle of Round Table for the Mens and Ladies combined competition which included a magnificent spread at the half-way house.
Valerie Bown, president of the Louth & District Lions, presented the prizes together with Eileen Ballard, Ladies' Captain, and Tim Elliott, Club Captain.
The winner of the Ladies' was Anne Brackenbury with 41 pts (19 on the back 9), second was Dawn Pereira also with 41 pts (17 on the back 9).
In the Men's, Sean Gower was the winner with 42 pts, 2nd Andy Brooks 40 pts and 3rd Nick Montgomery 38 pts.
Sean Gower was the overall Salver winner.
The following day Myra and Howard Greenwood won the Staples Family Foursomes mixed competition with 39 pts, 2nd Anne and Paul Brackenbury 36 pts (13 on back 6) and third Alison and Martyn Jenkins 36 pts (12 on the back 6).
