Callum Hyland's first half goal from 40 yards sealed the three points for Louth Town Reserves at Park Avenue.
But Louth boss Colin Trestrail said the result would have been more convincing had the home side taken their chances.

"We had at least four one-on-ones with their keeper, which came to nothing," he explained.

A combination of loose finishing and good goalkeeping prevented further score, but the one goal proved to be enough for a side who had lost five of their previous six games.

As expected, this was a tight match, but Horncastle took the spoils thanks to an Oliver Johnson goal scored midway through the second half.

Louth's keeper had denied the visitors with a number of first class saves and so it required a good goal to beat him.

This arrived courtesy of Johnson, who chested the ball down and volleyed into the roof of the net after good work by Tommy Chalk.
