Mablethorpe Running Club success

MABLETHORPE Running Club have enjoyed success at the recent cross country championships in Lincoln with runner Janine Stones coming in first place!
The club had four runners taking part in Lincolnshire's county cross country championships on February 14 which was held at Riseholme college in the outskirts of Lincoln.

Runners from all over the county came to test themselves on this very muddy course to try and qualify for the county team, Mablethorpe had two ladies racing in the senior race which was 7.5 km long.

Janine Stones came in first with nearly a two minute lead over the next competitor securing a place on the Lincolnshire team.

Sheryl Hawse who also had a great run coming in fifth place also gaining a place on the team.

The male race was dominated by Lincoln runner Matt Bowser who won last year's Lincoln 10k race he finished first with a great time of 32.53.

The first Mablethorpe runner home over the 9.7km course was Rob Hawse who finished eighth in the senior category - with Wayne Kew finishing eleventh in the veteran men category.

The two ladies will be representing Lincolnshire in the inter-counties race next month.
