Season in full swing at Louth Golf Club

LOUTH Golf Club held a PRO-AM, sponsored by Richard Noble of Don Noble and organised by the Lincolnshire Professional Golf Association for the first of the seasons events for the PGA's Ping Order of Merit.
Thirty one professionals took part, each with a team of three amateurs for an individual and team prize.
Scoring for the professionals medal round were exceptionally good with the winner Paul Bagshaw, from Ramsdale Park GC carding a 65, 7 under par, 2nd was Paul Streeter from Southwell GC with 69 (-3), 3rd was Daniel Greenwood from Forest Pines with 71 (-1).
The Iacha-Da, an 18 hole stableford competition, winners were two up and coming Junior Members.
Chris Cooper (18) who shot an excellent 47 points was a comfortable winner of the trophy from Josh Baines (18) with 41pts, 3rd place going to Martin Holdsworth (11) on 40pts.
The Preliminary Round of the A G Wood was an 18 hole medal round with the top 16 qualifying for the match play stages.
The medal winner was Liam Jaines (6) with a nett 66 from Josh Baines (20) nett 67 in 2nd and Dave Spence (6) nett 68 3rd after a count back.
Louth Golf Club held two days of open events and raised more than £2,800 for the Captain's Charity, SENSE.
Results: Mens - 1st B Smith and B Smith (43pts), 2nd P Knapper and M Harris (42pts, 24 back 9), 3rd T Elliott and G Buick (42pts, 21 back 9), 4th L Campbell and O Lawton (41pts, 21 back 9), 5th K West and K Haddon ( 41pts 18 back 9), 6th S Archer and A Shepard (40pts); Ladies 1st P Shepard and G Leverton (36 pts), 2nd L West and E Ballard (34pts); Mixed 1st Miss H Williams and N Fell (35pts); Men's Seniors 1st P Whitworth and H Greenwood (41 pts), 2nd K Haddon and K West (39 pts), 3rd M Peacock and D Rushworth (39pts), 4th A Ball and B Mincher (38pts, 6 back 2), 5th R Hennem and M Holdsworth (38pts 5 back 2), 6th B Handley and J Ashton (38pts, 13 back 6), B Short and A Brown (38pts, 12 back 6).
Louth Ladies
* The friendly match between Louth Ladies and Woodthorpe Hall Ladies was played at Louth.
The 16 ladies played their games in great spirits and Louth won the match 4-0.
