STAN Gladwell (18) scored well to record an early season win in the qualifying stableford competition for the Queen Mother Cup with 38 points at Kenwick Park Golf Club.
Stan now goes forward to represent Kenwick Park in the regional finals of this national competition played in aid of the Marie Curie Cancer Care charity.
Paul Dewhurst (4) came second with 36 from Peter Whittle (19) in third with 35.
A very consistent start to the season paid off for John Beverley (11) who won the Famous Grouse medal with a gross 79, nett 68 reducing his handicap to ten.
A countback separated the top three players with Rob Bell (26) claiming second place from Ross Kingham (10). Both Rob and Ross also earned a shot reduction in their handicaps.
A full clubhouse applauded Sandra Crow (9) and Andrea Smaggasgale (12) as they were announced worthy winners of the NSPCC betterball qualifying competition with an excellent score of 38 points.
Julia Labbett (11) and Lesley Burton (17) took second spot with 36 from Jenny Rickett (13) and Lynn Munro in third with 35.
Lady Captain Jeanette Stephenson congratulated the division three Kenwick Park ladies team who recorded a three one win away against Elsham.
