Pupils at Greenwich House School in Louth wish their teacher Arran Brindle the best of luck as she jets off.

Pupils at Greenwich House School in Louth have waved off their teacher Arran Brindle as she jetted off as part of England’s squad aiming to defend their ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India.

All-rounder Arran, 31, is part of England’s 15-strong squad who left for the subcontinent on Thursday.

England won the tournament in Sydney in 2009 while Arran was on a break from the game, but she returned in 2010 and has been an ever present for the national side ever since.

And Arran has predicted an open World Cup, tipping the likes of India, Australia and New Zealand to reach the final stages.

England face Sri Lanka in their first match on February 2 and all England Women’s games will be on BBC Radio with a selection of 10 games from across the competition to be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
