Angus Findley netted a double hat-trick as Louth Old Boys Reds defeated Mablethorpe Athletic Reserves 10-1 in the East Lincs Cup Division Two.
The hosts held a 6-0 lead at the break, going on to extend their advantage in the second 45 at London Road as they booked their place in the semi-finals.
The Old Boys were a little nervous going into the game, knowing Mablethorpe had already shown their form in the league contest by coming back from behind to collect a well-earned point.
By half time Findlay had bagged five and Ellis Barker was also on the scoresheet.
From the re-start Louth continued to show their strength and another goal from Findlay capped off a fine personal tally.
Chris Ella then struck a brace and Michael Appleby added a goal to reach double figures.
Louth keeper Sean Fieldsend also played his part in the victory, making two penalty saves.
The day was completed by a good 5-2 victory for the Louth Old Boys Vets against Hartwell Rovers.
In Division One, Louth Old Boys’ contest at AFC Holton Le Clay fell foul of the conditions and was postponed.
