Cleethorpes Town Under 18s had to work hard against Louth Old Boys U18s to come out eventual 5–1 winners in their latest league game in the Lincolnshire Intermediate North League fixture.
The game was tight from the start with both teams working hard and cancelling each other out the ‘keepers had little or nothing to do.
Cleethorpes took the lead as a run down the left hand side by Harry Crawford saw him clip the ball into the six-yard box, where Wade Hurst was on hand to head home into the net.
The lead doubled for Cleethorpes and you would be forgiven to thinking it was a mirror image as Micky Milne got to the by-line and squared the ball for Ollie Kurton to double the lead.
Just before half time Louth nearly forced themselves back into the game ,but a save by the Cleethorpes ‘keeper denied Louth.
The second half saw Cleethorpes on the attack and they soon added to the score line as Sam Walker twisted his way through in the box to slot the ball into the bottom of the net.
The same player laid on the next goal as he drove in down the left hand wing and passed into the box for the advancing Milne, who got a richly deserved goal.
Milne had time to add his second to make it 5-0 to Cleethorpes.
Louth looked to press and were looking dangerous in set plays and they grabbed their consolation goal following a powerful headed that flew into the net from Ollie Sanderson.
