Louth Town 2-0 Lincoln Moorlands Railway
A great all round performance saw the White Wolves replicate the form from their last game and come out with another win .
From the off Louth dominated in all areas. ‘Keeper Scott Drury kept his second successive clean sheet and was never in trouble throughout the match.
It was not an easy victory as hard work was required by all to notch up another three points.
Moorlands had made a good start to the season but their results of late have tailed off.
Louth were soon on the attack with a Smith cross finding the head of Croft. Rawlings let off a blistering shot only for it to sail over. Croft showed his class again, controlling well in the box and passing back to Andrews for him to get in a low shot.
A long range drive by Andrews was pushed wide by Turner in the Moorlands goal.
The break came when Rawlings was brought down in the area allowing Danny Stevens to convert from the spot. So it continued with Town making all the running.
Croft had another header go wide and Smith’s rocket of a shot was tipped over the bar.
The second half continued much like the first with the home crowd willing their team on to score again, but they had to wait until the 90th minute for that. New Signing Jamie Shaw came on for the injured Croft to put in a superb strike from 20-yards.
The fans left the ground happy saying it was the best home performance of the season.
Manager Paul Walden said: “It was a real tough game today as we expected from a strengthened Moorlands side, but we thoroughly deserved the points.
“We had a lot unavailable and Crofty played with an injury so it was great to get back to back wins and clean sheets.
“I was delighted with the work ethic continued from the win in mid-week and good to see new signing Jamie Shaw notch on his debut.”
This Saturday, November 1, Louth visit Hallam FC. Kick off at 3pm.
On Monday, November 3 at 7.45pm the White Wolves go to Bradley Fields to take on Cleethorpes Town in the 3rd round of the Lincolnshire FA County Senior Trophy.
