Lincoln City FC’s Hamza Bencherif and football scout, Matt Alexander have thrown their support behind a new community 6-a-side football league in Louth.
The league, operated by Leisure Leagues and owned by Lincolnshire-based Michael Clark, is due to kick off on Wednesday April from 7.30pm at The Pavilion in London Road, Louth.
In attendance for the launch of the league will be a noticeable name among Lincoln City fans in the form of Matt Alexander and Hamza Bencherif.
“I’m pleased to help support a new community league in Lincolnshire, said Alexander. “I’ve always been a big fan of 6-a-side football and I’m happy to be part of it.”
“We are happy to cater for all abilities,” said Michael Clark. “Whether you fancy yourself as the next Lionel Messi or simply want a laugh between work colleagues, we will accommodate you.”
Teams will then be competing for a range of top prizes including custom made trophies and free entry to the National 6-side championships, where they will get the chance to represent Louth and really hit the jackpot, as this years winners have received a package including a trip to the Algarve.
A fun, but competitive game with qualified refs is assured, and in a unique move, profits from the league will be donated to charity.
Games will be played between 7.30pm and 9.30pm every Wednesday at the astroturf on London Road and last for 30 minutes at a cost of £26 per team.
