A stunning second half performance saw Louth Old Boys U15s progress through to the next round of the cup after seeing off Boston JFC 8-2 at the London Road Pavilion Ground.

Old Boys made their usual start and were one up after two minutes. Unfortunately, after taking the foot off the gas, Boston responded with a cracking strike to level the score.

Once again Louth pressed high up the pitch and got in front, only for some sloppy defending to allow Boston to equalise and so the first half finished 2-2.

If the first half performance was average, the second half was anything but. Some choice comments from the manager during the interval prompted the response he was after and Louth Old Boys really showed why they are unbeaten at the top of the U15s league.

Six second half goals were a fair reward for a fantastic team performance and sees the Louth side through to the next round. Goal scorers were one each for Joe White, Ross Teo and Jamie Riddel, two goals for Ryan Worrel and a fantastic 10 minute hat trick for Jan Meiwald.

It’s back to league action next week with a visit from Caythorpe and Fulbeck.
