LOUTH Town have announced money-spinning friendlies against Grimsby Town and Boston United as the club’s new era under Daryl Clare gets underway.

The White Wolves will host the Mariners at Park Avenue on Monday, July 23, just two days after playing the Pilgrims.

New first team boss Clare told the Leader he has been ‘pleasantly surprised’ by the squad he has inherited from Paul Walden.

He said: “There were a few faces that I was delighted to have on board, and some well respected players returning who has previously left the club.

“Spirits are very high and expectation levels are rising daily.

“My ambition is to see all sections with the football club rowing in the same direction and working as a well oiled unit, with a smile on their faces.”

Tuesday, July 10 – Holbeach United – home – 7.45pm

Saturday, July 21 – Boston United – home – 3pm

Monday, July 23 – Grimsby Town – home – 7.45pm

Tuesday, July 24 – Sleaford Town – away – 7.45pm

aturday, July 28 – Basford United – home – 4pm

Tuesday, July 31 – Boston Town – away – 7.45pm.

Meanwhile Louth Town are searching for the next generation of young football stars.

Coaches Matt Kennedy and Mike Armstrong are looking for U7s, 8s, 9s and 12s for next season’s Gradely Sports League.

The teams train on a Wednesday night at Park Avenue, the U7s, 8s and 9s from 5.30pm until 6.30pm and the U12s from 6.15pm until 7.30pm.
