Louth Town’s trip to Athersley beaten by the weather

Louth Town saw their second game in succession postponed on Saturday, meaning they face a backlog of fixtures in the New Year.

Town were due to visit Athersley Recreation but the game fell victim to a waterlogged pitch in South Yorkshire.

Home wins for Shirebrook and Knaresborough mean the White Wolves fall to 6th in the Baris NCEL Division One table.

Town now have two games in hand on many of their rivals and face a hectic festive schedule, starting with a home game against Bottesford Town on Saturday.

They then visit Clipstone Welfare on Boxing Day and Bottesford on December 29, before a January 5 home clash with Albion Sports.
