Louth Town under 13s on cloud nine after thumping win

Hykeham 0-9 Louth Town

Louth Town continued their great league form by cruising to a 9-0 victory at Hykeham.

Town took the lead early on when a Mathew Appleby through ball was met by Wrisdale who calmly slotted home to make it 1-0.

Further strikes by Ryan Bingham and Wrisdale’s second made it 2-0 and 3-0 in quick succession before Wrisdale met an Appleby cross to make it four.

Harry Margeson then got in on the act to make it five when he bundled home an Ivan Koslow knock down.

Thomas Evison’s corner was met by Wrisdale whose header lobbed the onrushing goalkeeper and dropped into the net before Margeson netted two more to make it a whopping 8-0 before half time.

The hosts improved after the break and were rewarded a penalty when William Davey was adjudged to have fouled a Hykeham player, but the defender was relieved to see the taker miss the target.

Margeson then netted his fourth of the game when he twisted and turned before firing home to make it nine.

The man of the match award went to Louth centre back Alex Turner who marshelled the defence all game, allowing the attackers to press forward throughout.
