Young Louth footballers at Monks Dyke Tennyson College were celebrating last week after being crowned district schools futsal champions.
Various schools from the surrounding area came to the college’s Louth campus for the Year 9 boys’ tournament.
Monk’s Dyke team were positive and played excellently throughout to win all of their matches, beating Somercotes 2-0, Caistor Grammar 4-3, King Edward’s 2-0, and Caistor Yarborough 4-0.
The triumph was all the sweeter considering the ages of the players with four of the five boys selected from Year 8.
The team of Tommy Hart, Kyle Hallgarth-McGhee, Jack Evison, Brandon South and Liam Stynes will now go forward to the upcoming county finals, at the Meres Leisure Centre, in Grantham.
