North Somercotes FC manager Keith Warsap has paid tribute to his “great set of lads” after they ended the season at the top of the East Lincs Combination First Division League.
The team also won the Junior Challenge Cup, reached the final of the Cusworth Cup, and the semi-final of the Lincolnshire County Cup.
They have also reached the final of the Village Cup, which has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
North Somercotes FC will take on AFC Holton le Clay in August, one week before next season begins.
Keith Warsap, who took on the manager’s role in December 2012, said that this had been North Somercotes FC’s most successful season so far.
Keith said: “This is the best season we’ve had.
“We’ve been pretty successful, but for the past four or five years we have not been winning trophies.
“The team is mostly village lads, they are the nucleus of the team. I wouldn’t want to swap them for any other player in the league, because they’ve all done really well and done better than expected.
“I want to thank my assistant manager, Andy Househam, who has been a massive help to me this season and I also want to thank our sponsors, Costcutters in North Somercotes.
“If you had told me in August that we would end the season at the top of the league and winning the Junior Challenge Cup, I wouldn’t have believed it. Now, we want to emulate that success next season.”
