Norton penalty in vain as Louth Town slip to 14th

LOUTH Town suffered only their second defeat in 15 games when they went down 2-1 at Eccleshill United on Saturday.

The West Yorkshire side netted twice in quick succession just after the half hour mark through Marcus Edwards and Jermaine Springer.

Town striker Steve Norton pulled one back shortly after with his 16th of the season from the penalty spot but the White Wolves couldn’t force an equaliser in the second half and the result sees Paul Walden’s men drop to 14th in the NCEL Division One table.

Town’s next game sees them visit bottom side Appleby Frodingham on Saturday (3pm).
