It has been a challenging but positive year for the Louth Town under 12s football team, with Mark Furminger taking over the mangers role in November.
There has also been the recruitment of many new players, who attend a variety of schools from Louth, Market Rasen, Caistor and Woodhall Spa.
As the season has progressed the players have improved remarkably and have created a brilliant team spirit. It has been a very promising start for this brand new team.
They played in the Gradely Cup Final on recently at Park Avenue in Louth against Empire Milan from Grimsby, who have never been beaten all season.
There were a crowd of 200 people and it was a great atmosphere. Louth opened the scoring with an early goal and dominated the first half, leading 3–2 at the break.
Louth managed another goal in the second half taking the score to 4-2, but by the whistle blew the score was 5–4 to Empire Milan as the Louth players tired towards the last few minutes of the game.
It was a promising and very positive start for this brand new team and the manager and players are excited to see what can be achieved next season.
