A total of 220 Year 3 and 4 school pupils and their teachers descended on Cordeaux Academy, in Louth, for a goalball festival.

It was the first major event run by the Academy’s 22-strong group of Year 9 Sky Living for Sports Leaders.

Goalball is played blindfolded and silence is necessary to hear the bell in the balls.

Nine courts were marked out and all of the leaders were paired up, trained, briefed and equipped with clipboard and scoresheets ready to organise, umpire and encourage. The sports leaders were a credit to the Academy and ensured the event ran smoothly.

North Cockerington 3 won the day from runners-up Lacey Gardens 1, while Lacey Gardens 3 finished third.
