There was triple the delight for Louth Town on Tuesday (October 21) as they gained three points and a hat-trick of goals in their game against Rossington Main.

Toolstation NCEL Division 1: Rossington Main v Louth Town, 0-3.

On a windy and cold night in South Yorkshire, the White Woilves gave a scintillating display of football to prove what all suppporters already knew - they are up there with the best.

After several poor first half displays, it was full on for the whole 90 minutes. Never once did they allow Rossington to settle.

From the off they were in their faces, chasing everything. The defence was tight, the midfield adventerous and the forwards were in a class of their own.

Early break were the key in demoralising the opposition. Norton beating three defenders and seeing his effort saved and Smith trying his luck with a fine long range shot.

The breakthrough came with Smith racing down the right to put in a perfectly place cross on the Coulson’s head. Kilmore and Smith had further chances but Stevens in the opposition goal kept the shoreline sensible.

After the break there was no respite for Rossington as the attacks continued. Their defence would crack sooner than later and it was left to Coulson to do just that with two goals within a minute of each other. The match continued in the same vein, attack after attack, but somehow the Rossington defence held out for the remainder.

Manager Paul Walden comments: “I thought the boys were superb from the off the commitment and desire to get back to winning ways was there for all to see and typified by the way Coulson ran the lin up top he was quality.

“The downside we picked up yet another injurty with Tom Summers having to come off after 23 mins, but a weel deserved three points.”
