LOUTH TOWN slipped to only their second league defeat of the season as AFC Emley stole the points at Park Avenue on Wednesday night.

Town had taken the lead through winger Matt Kennedy on 50 minutes, but Liam Schofield’s free kick levelled things with 20 minutes to go.

With both sides pressing for the winner it was the visitors who took the lead when Dean Wharam’s effort squirmed past goalkeeper Ian McTaggert.

Town pushed on but were unable to create any clear cut chances for the equaliser and the defeat means Daryl Clare’s side drop a place to third in the Northern Counties East League Division One table.
