AM AM at Louth Golf Club

AT least the weather stayed fine on the Saturday, Monday and Tuesday of the Jubilee weekend at Louth Golf Club.

An AM AM was played on Saturday. The winning Ladies team was that of Di Jones, Steff Teanby, Sue McLellan and Margaret Covey with 65 stableford points ; 2nd, Lady Captain Anne Brackenbury, Mary Haynes, Janet and Clare Moody, 63pts.

For the men a magnificent 94 secured 1st place for Cy Ward, Peter and Richard Whitworth and Nigel Smith; 2nd, Captain Paul Brackenbury, Brian Castle, Dave Parkinson and Robert Haynes, 86pts (43 back 9); 3rd, Graham Stark, George Webster, Steve Andrews & Stuart Hempshall, 86pts (42 back 9); 4th, George Pennell, Rob Jaines, Nigel and Rick Towse, 84pts.

On Monday 16 mixed pairs competed for the Copestake foursomes, the winners being Margaret Covey and Kevin Best on 34; 2nd, Myra and Howard Greenwood, 32pts; 3rd Kate hicks and Peter Whitworth, 31pts.

The celebration were concluded on Tuesday with the Ladies having a Jubilee Flag competition the winner was Linda West who reached the 15th green.

There was an overall Jubilee spirit with everyone dressed for the occasion in red, white and blue.
