THE Eric Sharp Charity Pro-Am takes place at Kenwick Park Golf Club on Friday April 27.
Eric retired last year from the role of Director of Golf at Kenwick. Players taking part include - Gordon J Brand, Eric’s son-in-law; Jim Payne from Louth; Stephen Bennett; Andrew Hare; Ricky Willison who represented Great Britain 45 times during his amateur career; Helen Hewlett player in the county team which won the county finals last year for the first time in the 120 year history; Sophie Walker; Nikki Garrett.
n Easter at Kenwick Park saw Peter Smart and Lynda Berry defeat Chris and Alex Davies in the final with the last putt to win the nine holes mixed winter league.
Ten couples completed the 18 holes bank holiday mixed competition in driving rain. Nick and Jo Cudmore scored a tremendous 38 points to win.
Dermot Dreelan and Karen Archer were runners-up with 35 on a countback from Peter and Suw Guilliatt.
The Kenwick ladies played the Pauline Jackson qualifying medal with the top 16 players progressing to the match play rounds.
The wet conditions made scoring difficult but Sandra Crow won the silver division with 91 - 11 = 80 and Pam Hayward (34) won the bronze with a net 83. .
The Kenwick seniors invited the ladies to join them for the J and M AM AM competition with teams of two men and two ladies in each side and two scores to count at each hole.
John Ashton, Grahame Ward, Allison Cook and Julie Harvey won with 78 points. Despite being one player short, Andrea Smaggasgale, Geoff Formby and Bobby Jones were second with 77.
n ON Monday April 2 at Sandilands Golf Club 20 members played in a medal competition.
Winner with 64 was John Conyers.
On Sunday April 8, 20 members played in the Daily Mail Foursomes Competition.
Winners with 68.5 were Alan Edwards and Mick Reynolds. On Tuesday April 10 the ladies played a medal qualifying competition.
Winner with 76 Was Freda Smith.
n LOUTH Golf Club members were out for a Spring Scramble.
The course was well set up by Graham Ives, the Head Green Keeper, and he and his team won the men’s event as he, Chris Parker, Martin Turner and Neil Ashwood achieved a nett 53.85 with a 15 per cent allowance for this Texas Scramble.
The winning Ladies team was that of Peggy Hales, Sheila Green, Sandra Conway and Rosemary Evans with a nett 62.
