THE weather stayed mostly fine for Kenwick Park Golf Club’s Lynda Cahalin’s Lady Captain’s weekend.
Fifty two ladies played a stableford competition for the Lady Captain’s Rosebowl and a delighted Sandy Dilworth (25) won with 38 points.
Margaret Williams (30) was first in the bronze division with 37 ahead of Anne Gardiner (25) with 35. Jill Dale (32) was third with 34.
Julie Harvey (13) won the silver with 36 points. Sandra Crow (10) took second place with 31 on a countback from Sue Sykes (9).
The mixed AM AM on the Sunday proved very popular with 120 players taking part. Birdie Dawson, Penny Buckley, Neil Pridgeon and Sam Atkin won with 84 points.
Alistair and Julie Harvey, John Payne and Peter Grantham were runners-up with 82 on a countback from Vice Captains Colin Burkitt and Ann Walker who were joined by Chris Winney and Sam Mountain.
Graham Hewstone was nearest the pin for the men on the 8th green and Wendy Green won the ladies prize on the 12th.
Following all the excitement at the weekend, the ladies played a medal and Mabel Blackburn won the bronze division with a really good score of 96 - 28 = 68 from Di Everitt (28) with a net 72.
In the silver, Lady County Captain Julia Sales won with 83 - 8 = 75 from Ann Walker (10) with a net 76.
