THE Kenwick Park Golf Club ladies played a medal qualifying round for the Anne Dickinson trophy with the top eight going through to the matchplay rounds.
Lesley Burton (16) played really well to shoot 88 - 16 = 72 to win from runner-up Joan Fairbank (25) who had a net 73.
Di Watkinson (32) came third with 74 and the other five qualifiers were Cheryl Gilliatt, Val Pattinson, Andrea Smaggasgale, Sue Sykes, Ann Walker and Sandra Crow.
In the next competition, Sue Burkitt (24) did not let gusty winds stop her from recording the highest score of the day with 35 points to win division two.
Allison Cook (23) was runner-up with 32 from Jill Harrington in third place with 30.
Jeanette Stephenson (20) scored 30 points to top division one. Julie Harvey (13) took the second spot with 29 on a countback from Andrea Smaggasgale (9).
Dave Hackett (7) is in top form at the moment recording his second victory in consecutive weeks with 75 - 7 = 68 to win division one of the men’s April Medal.
Nick Fox (9) was runner-up with 69. Ron Irwin (9) took the third spot with 70 on a countback from Graham Sykes (9).
Ashton Turner (0), who has recently been selected from the England U16 squad, shot the best gross of the day with a 74.
Steve Clarke won division two with 83 - 17 =66 from Andrew Flockton (16) with a net 68. Peter McCabe (20) was third with a 70.
The Kenwick Park seniors played the Hall of Fame stableford qualifying competition and Mike Graves (16) scored a remarkable 43 points to win and progress to the regional finals.
His nearest rival was Alan Smaggasgale (13) with 37. Drew Hipkiss (18) was third with 35.
