Louth Storm play Grantham Outlaws
Louth Storm
Louth Storm 54 Grantham Outlaws 73
This week saw Louth Storm pay host to the Grantham Outlaws in their 2nd home game of the season.
The Storm (who are currently mid-table after three games) started off well by winning the opening tip. They pressured Grantham’s defence and with keeping them on the back foot they got off to a good start with the first seven points being scored by player/coach Craig Gregory.
From then on the game became close. Grantham began to hit their outside shots and with the Storm penetrating the lane they spent a lot of the 1st quarter at the free throw line but were struggling to put the shots away and the 1st quarter ended 16 – 13 in favour of the home team.
The next two quarters were a hard battle for the undersized home team. With the experience and size on the side of the away team, they started to break away by making three point shots and free throws.
In the fourth quarter the Storm tried to battle back with points coming from Joe King and Liam Frater but each time the home team closed the gap Grantham had an answer and in the end it was just to much for the Storm to handle with the game ending in the first home lose of the season.
The next home game for The Storm is on December 2 at the Meridian Leisure Centre at 5pm where they will face the league leaders Lincoln Lightning so please come and support your local club.
