20th anniversary of Kenwick Park Golf Club

KENWICK Park Golf Club members enjoyed a special weekend to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the opening of the golf club.

As temperatures soared, Mick Horner shot a sizzling 76 – 7 =69 to win the Kenwick Trophy.

Sam Done came second and shot the lowest gross with 74 – 4 = 70. Mick Upton (4) was third with a nett 71.

One hundred and four people took part in the special mixed AM AM anniversary competition on the following day.

James Lee, Julia Labbett, Graham and Sue Sykes scored a superb 94 points to win. Martin and lady vice captain Anne Gardiner joined by Tim and Carol Morrell scored 92 to come second on a count back from Trevor and Pam Hayward playing with Graham Cowley and Polly Pike.

Tracey Stobart, Julia Sales, Paul and James Hollis were fourth with 89 on a countback from Rob, Elaine and Ed Houlton playing with Phil Jackson. Julia Labbett won the ladies prize for nearest the pin at the 12th and Ron Irwin was nearest at the 8th hole.

Scoring was high amongst the winners of the ladies stableford.

Karen Archer (27) won the bronze division with a great score of 40 points.

Penny Buckley (24) was second with 39. Suw Guilliatt (16) won the silver with 39 ahead of Jean Sizer (19) with 38.

Jo Cudmore (25) came third overall with 38 on a countback from fourth placed Jill Harrington (24).
