THE snooker league leaders Kitchen Solutions went off the boil in their table topper with N T Shaw Citroen losing 7-5.

The visitors needed a big score to boost their faint title hopes and despite both Chris Dixon and Malc Dixon winning they only drove to the narrowest of victories, Rod Dodge replied for the hosts who might now be looking over their shoulders at the rejuvenated Sibjon Builders who are just six points behind after their 9-3 home success over J Melton Painters.

Howard Addison and Sid Bett gave the now second placed home side a great start and when Bob Barnes increased the score the visitors were certainly trying to paper over the cracks.

Seymour & Castle kept up their quest for at least the runners-up prize with a superb 8-4 away win at Castaline which leaves them four behind second, Simon Overton, Simon Godfrey and Nick Bailey all sunk the hosts whose lone reply came from Glenn Hallam.

Dales Poultry & Game gave Don Noble Bookmaker a good stuffing thrashing them 10-2.

Jack Westerby, Craig Shaw, Luke Howard and Phil Marshall all roasted their opponents as the away outfit find themselves seven adrift at the bottom.

Harness & Cooper Joiners nailed Louth Building Supplies 7-5 this after Tony Byrne had given the visitors the lead, Matt Archer levelled the scores leaving Martin Turner to do the honours of winning the match.

Billiards League

THERE’S one match to go in the Billiards league where Naulls and Dales hold a two points lead after beating Castaline 2-1, Alf Crampin with another half century and Jack Westerby both won for the leaders as Keith Sowter replied.

Jack Westerby Driving School slip to second after losing 3-0 at W A Jaines and Son, Barry Andrews, Jez Swaby and Phil Marshall all upset the title hopefuls in this whitewash.

ABC Riding Wear beat M A Stephenson Autos 3-0 in a basement battle, Bob Strathern (31), Phillip Tamblin and Mike Rice all won to leave these two sides level at the bottom.
