J Melton Painters are top of the snooker section after brushing aside previous leaders Castaline 9-3.
The hosts stepped up their title bid with wins from Graham Evison, Colin Stirton and Wes Burton giving them a point lead as their defeated rivals slip to third while up to second are NT Shaw Citroen despite losing 7-5 at home to another side with title ambitions Seymour & Castle.
The away side went in front through Simon Davison and increased that lead courtesy of two frames from Steve Swallow, Stuart Borman replied late on for the hosts but couldn’t force the draw.
Kitchen Solutions kept their chances of retaining the title alive with a hard earned 7-5 home win over lowly Sibjon Builders which leaves them one of three sides in third place, Craig Young and Chris Dalton both won for the hosts this after Pete Mountain had kept the visitors in with a shout and also taking a share of third is Harness & Cooper Joiners who thrashed GRS Electrical Services 9-3, Step Taylor (38-36-34-33-26), Nick Bailey, Mark Storey and Martin Turner all left their side two points off the top as Stewart Tett grabbed a couple of consolation frames for the basement team.
Dales Poultry & Game will need to win a game in hand to rekindle their title hopes. They didn’t do their chances any harm by beating Louth Travel Centre 8-4, Dave Mayfield and Mark Wilkinson got the visitors back on track while the spoils were shared between Louth Building Supplies and Don Noble Bookmaker, Henry McSpadden levelled the scores for the hosts after John Bartup had given the away side the lead.
