Louth Triathlon Club members took part in their first triathlon of the season at David Lloyd centre in Burton Waters, near Lincoln.

The club had over ten people competing in the first part of the Midlands Sprint Series with some excellent results including Jono Bromfield who completed his first triathlon as the fastest Louth Tri Club member in one hr, nine mins and 55 secs, closely followed by Ross McGregor in one hr 10 mins and 31 secs.

The ladies were also out in force with Gill Fewster completing in 1hr 28 mins and 44 secs, and Louth Tri Club Coach Karen Hames won her age group.

Sean and Mags Hutchings are doing three speed triathlons for Multiple Sclerosis Society and both completed strongly at Burton Waters, if you would like to donate please visit www.justgiving.com/Mags-Hutchings1.

The club formed this year and already have over 40 members. Club chairman Simon Sharp said: “The club is welcome to everyone; we aim to cater for all, supporting current athletes competing in the sport and also new people starting out.”

The club is based at Meridian Leisure Centre, Louth, and is looking for a lead sponsor. Find them on Facebook, email sharpsimon1@gmail.com or pop into the leisure centre.
