Spectators sporting Welsh or South African rugby shirts can gain free admission to Market Rasen Racecourse this Saturday, October 17.

The track is hosting an Oktoberfest racing day, sponsored by Listers Mercedes-Benz, with an oompah band and a guest beer.

The Rugby World Cup game between the Springboks and Wales will be shown on televisions in selected bars from kick-off at 4pm.

As well as the rugby admission offer, which is for the Tattersalls Enclosure, spectators arriving in Oktoberfest-style clothing will receive a complimentary race-card and £2 off admission for Tattersalls or County Enclosures.

Racing is between 2.05pm and 5.35pm on Saturday, with gates open just after mid-day.

Nadia Gollings, General Manager, Market Rasen Racecourse, said: “We’re set for a really exciting day’s racing, with tremendous entries for our seven races as the jump racing season gets into full swing this autumn.

“Saturday is also a great day for sport, with the first Rugby World Cup semi-final kicking off at 4pm and we’re thrilled to welcome fans of both Wales and South Africa to enjoy the game on television with us.”
