On Saturday Louth Golf Club’s new Men’s Captain, Andrew Wilkinson, invited the new Ladies Captain, Moira Barker, to a friendly match against their Vice Captains, Mike Brader and Carole Craven.

There was a competition for the members: Division 1: 1st and overall winner George Chester 41; 2nd H. Greenwood 40; 3rd S. Appleton 39; 4th G. Ives 39. Div.2: N. Blyth 38; M. Fairburn 38; C. Bailey; 37; J. Bett 36. Ladies: Linda West 31; 2nd A. Brackenbury 27.

There was also a sweep stake to guess the length of Andrew Wilkinson’s drive. It was a bit of a duff shot, but Glen Hallam guessed.

The following Tuesday, Moira Barker, the new Ladies’ Captain, had a good turnout to watch her drive-in. Moira’s Vice Captain, Carole Craven, organised the day with a theme of green clothing and red lipstick.

There was a competition which was won by Philippa Winter with 37 stableford points; 2nd L. Elliott 31; 3rd J. Atkinson 28; 4th S. Daniels 28; 5th J. Moody 28.
