Market Rasen & Louth suffered a 72-20 home defeat at home to Midlands 1 East opponents Newbold on Avon on Saturday.

The league newcomers put the hosts to the sword with a combination of mobile forwards and speedy backs.

Hooker Tom Alldridge put Rasen on the scoreboard with a well-struck kick.

Rasen began the second half in spectacular fashion as Chris Mills set up Rob Batterbury to sprint in under the posts, leaving Alldridge with a simple conversion.

Flyhalf Peter Everton picked up another try following a sprint for the ball.
