Kenwick Park Golf Club men’s captain Steve Blackburn and lady captain Pam Westthorp signed off their year in office with an Am-Am competition last week.

It was a family affair for the team of Ron Irwin, his partner Val, son-in-law Sean Howsam and grandson Nathan Price who won with a great score of 94 points.

Chris Dixon, Dan Blythe, John Mountain and Richard Bruntlett were runners-up with 93, and Hugh Donnelly, Bridget Hardaway, Noreen Bradford and Christine Goldsbrough took third place with 85 on a countback from Ian Norton, Birdie Dawson, Rick and Sue Fisher.

Sue Sykes, Julia Labbett, Helen Sherratt and Mabel Blackburn completed the top five with 83.

At the prize presentation, Steve confirmed that more than £5,000 had been raised for the captains’ charities over the past year.

The two local charities to benefit are the Wolds Riding for the Disabled Association and the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
