Kenwick Park Golf Club: Lady President wins medal-winners’ final

Kenwick Park Golf Club’s ladies’ section played a medal with all the medal winners from this season competing for the shield.

The lady president Val Pattinson took the honours with a score of 90-17=73 to pip Birdie Dawson who finished as runner-up with 82-8=74.

Val has played consistently well over the season and her victory in the medal winners’ final reflected this.

In the alternative medal, Jenny Rickett, who recently scored a hole-in-one, was delighted to win with 89-18=71 to reduce her handicap to 17. Sue Sykes came second with 86-12=74.

* On a glorious first day of October, 52 players took part in the inaugural nine-hole shotgun start AM-AM to celebrate Lincolnshire Day.

Steve Clarke, Birdie Dawson, Chris and Vicki Halmshaw played out of their skins to score 49 points, a score almost as impressive as the Red Arrows themselves.

The men’s captain Steve Blackburn and his wife Mabel, lady captain Pam Westthorp, and Rose Stevenson were the runners-up with 42, while John and Tracey Stobart, Jenny Rickett, and Jenny Noble came third with 41.
