Kenwick Park Golf Club’s September men’s medal produced wins in both divisions for a father and son combination.
Tom Gladwell had an excellent round of 73-5=68 to win Division One and shoot the best gross of the day.
Meanwhile, his father Stan played very well, scoring 91-25=66 to win Division Two and reduce his handicap by three shots.
Dave Varney (82-11=71) was second to Tom on countback from Kieren Spencer-Chaplin (76-5=71).
In Division Two, Dan Mountain was the runner-up with 83-13=70 ahead of Chris Dixon (85-14=71).
* As summer returned, married couples played a betterball stableford for the Newton Trophy.
Charlie and Sarah Hickman were the clear winners with their great score of 40 points. The men’s captain Steve Blackburn and wife Mabel took second place with 37 on countback from Bob and Jane Briggs.
In the alternative competition for the non-weds, the new pairing of Birdie Dawson with junior Harry Wood won with 36 points.
* The senior section played a stableford competition for the Cunnington Cup.
Graham Cowley (14) was delighted to win with a very good score of 40 points from runner-up David Thurston (20) with 36, and third place went to Simon Hartley (3) who scored 35.
