A Louth school team will run for national pride next month after coming through regional championships last weekend.

King Edward School qualified two cross country teams for the Regional Schools Cross Country Cup which was held at Tupton Hall School, in Chesterfield, on a cold and damp Saturday morning.

The junior boys’ cross country team finished in an excellent third position to book their place at the national schools finals in Bedford on Saturday, December 5.

King Edward’s intermediate boys’ team also performed exceptionally well to finish fifth overall in their section.

More than 500 schools entered the regional competitions with only the top 24 qualifying for the finals.
