Kitchen Solutions are this season’s Snooker League Champions. After struggling to find a win recently they drew their final match to top the table by four points, Steve Squires and Craig Young both won for the hosts to serve up a treat.
Derek Adlam and Pete Beeton both replied for the visiting Louth Building Supplies to set up a few anxious moments, but this 6-6 draw was sufficient for the home side to get them over the line.
Sibjon Builders put in a great effort in their final league match to try and dislodge the leaders from top spot, but it was to no avail and they will have to be satisfied with second place. Phil Williamson, Bob Barnes, Anthony Pridgeon and Pete Mountain with a superb 42 break all won for the hosts in a 10-2 whipping of Don Noble Bookmaker who tailed off finishing with a wooden-spoon.
Last season’s top boys Castaline finished in third after their 8-4 away win at Harness & Cooper Joiners, Will Blythe, Keith Sowter and Glenn Hallam all won for the visitors while Andy Dunn saved the hosts from a bigger loss.
Dales Poultry & Game earned a narrow 7-5 victory at NT Shaw Citroen, Gary Skipworth fired the hosts in front but his side took a backseat as Jez Swaby and Mark Wilkinson contributed to their team’s comeback.
Lee Willoughby and Brian Copeland twice gave Louth Travel Centre the lead, but on both occasions the visiting Seymour & Castle fought back firstly through Simon Davison and then through Sean Lowe to earn a share of the spoils in a 6-6 draw.
Newly-crowned champions Naulls & Dales started their cup campaign with a fine 2-1 away win over W A Jaines & Son, Mark Storey and Andy Dunn both sent the hosts to their second successive defeat despite the efforts of Phil Marshall.
It’s two wins from their two starts for Castaline, Alan Mountain and Dan Blythe both made sure their side stays in control of their cup group.
