The annual Louth Lions Charity Golf Day at Louth Golf Club raised a superb £1,200.
The day attracted more than 40 competitors and all the players were greeted by volunteers from Louth Lions who registered the entrants and provided coffee and bacon sandwiches at the halfway house.
During the evening dinner and presentation, Lions president Mark Langley and Louth GC men’s vice-captain Mike Brader presented the Louth Lions Plate to Simon Lovatt and Simon Foster who won with 58 points.
Lesley Elliott received a trophy on behalf of the winning ladies’ team who claimed the prize with a score of 72.1 points.
Louth Lions representative Chris Bayne thanked the club for their hospitality.
“We managed to raise in excess of £1,200 which is a fantastic achievement,” he said. “It was a great event.”
* Gareth Warren and Callum Thompson celebrated victory after almost four months of playing the weekly Captain’s Nights.
The pair won the Greenwood Plate at the final Captain’s Night of the season. During the 14 weeks of qualifiers, Gareth accumulated 29 points and Callum 38.
Callum (pictured below, right, with Gareth), a junior member at Louth and a Lincolnshire county junior player, has enjoyed a fine season.
The course at Louth GC has continued to surprise members after a successful season.
