Two solid wins saw Highgate Wanderers reclaim top spot of the Morning Triples Bowls League.
They lead Yorkies by virtue of a slightly better shots difference after beating their rivals Yorkies 16-9 in the first set of games. In their second game, Wanderers beat Magpies 15-7, while Yorkies were given another hard time by Dreamers before winning the last two ends for a 16-15 victory.
The Jays remained four points behind as they beat Dreamers 18-10 and then survived a last-end shoot-out for a 15-14 win against In A Minute.
At the other end of the table, Seagulls now perch on the bottom rung after defeats against Falcons (11-7) and Mudlarks (11-3), while In A Minute no longer prop up the rest after their inspired 16-12 win over fourth-placed Two Plus One. This put them on the same number of points as Falcons, who narrowly lost 10-9 to Two Plus One, and Magpies who got better as the game went along to defeat Mudlarks 20-7.
* In connection with Lincolnshire Sport, Louth Indoor Bowls Club hosts an Open Day on Saturday, June 20 from noon until 6pm for non-members.
Call club manager Simon Reeson on (01507) 609227 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
* The 2015-16 winter leagues have been discussed and will continue in the same format as last winter. There is a possibility of an additional Australian Pairs competition on a Saturday evening for those members not able to get into the current daytime league.
This would not be every week but would probably interchange with the Bowl and Dine sessions which are to be re-introduced.
The club are also looking at introducing a brand new fours league for Sunday mornings similar to a Bowls Drive session. Teams would be decided on a draw each week, but players would need to pre-register for the whole winter before the league starts.
More details will be available shortly on the club noticeboard and website at www.louthindoorbowlingclub.co.uk
