A local martial arts and fitness instructor James Breakspeare has just taken on another coach at his full time academy on the Station Estate in Louth.

James who owns the martial arts and leadership academy Function First Louth has taken on Capoeira coach Carleandro.

Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art that is famous for its dance like movements and strong connection to music. Capoeira truly puts the ‘art’ in martial art.

James said “I am really excited about having this martial art within the academy and ultimately in Louth.

“Capoeira is an excellent way to improve flexibility, movement, reflexes and fitness. I believe many can benefit from studying it.”

Capoeira has been seen in many films over the years and was used by the BBC for a long time in the opening credits to TV programs.

It is suitable for all ages both young and old; James has ages from five years up to 63 currently studying Capoeira at the academy.

Capoeira is currently taught by Carleandro on a Monday and Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9pm.
