Young swimmers have helped a Louth school to victory at a countywide event last week.

St Michael’s Primary School’s Year 3 and 4 swimming team won their age group title at the Lincolnshire Winter Games County Swimming Championships at the Meres Leisure Centre, in Grantham, last Wednesday.

A 12-strong team and two reserves made the trip south and produced a fantastic performance.

They secured top four finishes in every race and capped the day with a hat-trick of wins for Gemma Damms in the 25m and 50m breaststroke, and 25m freestyle.

Evie Roscoe won the 50m front crawl and the freestyle relay team were also victorious.

St Michael’s finished top of the overall standings from runners-up St Andrew’s, Woodhall Spa, and third-placed Parish Church School, Gainsborough.
