Louth Tennis Centre ladies are winners

LOUTH Indoor Tennis Centre Ladies 2nd Doubles team played Eastgate 2nd team from Lincoln at home on Saturday and had a convincing win, 9-0.

The team consisted of 1st couple Sarah Allinson and Janet Shepherd and 2nd couple Liz Coulam and Sue Baggott.

Special mention must go to teenager Rachel Brook, who played her first game for the ladies 2nd team and was unbeaten with her partner, Katie Collett.

The Ladies 2nd team have now finished all their matches winning all but one of them.

Louth Mens 2nd doubles team played Grimsby Tennis Centre 3rd team away on Saturday and came away with a 7-2 win.

First couple, James Clarke and Ian Roscoe won all their matches, 2nd couple, Steve Brattan and Jason Foxon won all theirs, two on Championship tie breaks, and 3rd couple, David Billyeald and Jonathan Rands won one of theirs, and losing one on a Championship tie break.

Eleven couples took part in the second Mini Red Adult/Child tournament of the year.

The winners were Ryan Scaman and Richard Bell and the runners up were William and Helen Dunning.

The centre held its second Ladies Day of the year and 28 ladies played on the indoor and outdoor courts.

The tournament was run by Ed Allinson, head coach at the centre. The winners of the morning were Jenny Carter and Annika Keelan and the runners up were Eleanor Dyson and Katie Collett.

The third and last Ladies Day of the year will be on November 8 and Annikas of Louth will be sponsoring the day.

Ladies do not have to be members of the club to take part in the tennis.
