LOUTH Tennis Centre Mens 1 Doubles team took on St James 1 and won a very close encounter 5-4.
The No 1 pairing of Ed Allinson and Phil Nicholson won two of their three matches very comfortably and just lost in a championship tie break, 10-8 to the 1st couple of St James 1, Harry Burley and Ed Spillman.
Second couple Alex Davies and Marcus Nidd won one of their rubbers and 3rd couple Ian Roscoe and Dibber Clark won two of theirs to give Louth the win. It was great and exciting tennis to watch played at a really high standard.
Louth Aegon Mens team took on St James 1 and Louth won 4-2.
In the singles, Louth No 1 Alex Davies took on John Watkinson and won 6-3 6-2, No 2 Phil Nicholson had a fantastic win over Ed Spillman winning on a championship tie break.
Marcus lost his match with Chris Watkinson 1-6 6-7 and Joe Allinson won his match against Mike Watkinson 7-6 7-6.
In the doubles Alex and Marcus beat John and Mike and Joe and Phil lost to Chris and Ed 7-6 6-1.Again this match was played at a very high standard.
In the North Kelsey & District Tennis League Louth took on a very strong Scotter team at home which included two county players. It was a very close match ending with Scotter winning by two games.
Sarah and Rachel Allinson and Dibber Clark and Jason Foxon played for Louth against Danielle Smith and Trish Grattan and Steve Mumby and Ant Neal for Scotter 1.
