The newly formed Louth Triathlon Club is holding a taster day this Saturday in a bid to attract new members.
The club only launched last month but already has over 30 members and is fully affiliated to British Triathlon Federation
The first Louth Triathlon Club taster day is at 10am this Saturday, February 16 at the Meridian Leisure Centre.
“If any of you have ever dreamed of completing a triathlon or want to set a fitness goal for 2013, then I’d urge you to come along,” said Simon Sharp, club chairman.
The day starts with free tea, coffee and cake and an introduction on what the club’s ambitions are, followed by a talk from Chris Coveley on nutrition and Mrs Ruhier from One Step Beyond events will be able to answer any questions to do with the events held in Lincolnshire.
You then get the chance to ride on a turbo trainer with top triathlon coach Doug Eke and then the day moves into the pool for the chance to try some front crawl techniques and drills.
Anyone over the age of 16 can go along and give it a go.
“We really are an open, welcoming and sometimes over enthusiastic bunch, and will always support anyone wanting to challenge themselves,” Simon added.
The whole day is free for everyone and everyone attending the day will get a free energy gel or hydration drink supplied by High5 Nutrition.
If you’d like to attend please call the Meridian on 01507 607650.
