The Lincolnshire flag flew proudly at the Lakeside Country Club, Frimley Green, in Surrey, home of the famous home of the BDO World Darts Championships.

It was the first time the county had representatives in the men’s and women’s finals of the British Gold Cup Pairs Championships.

Maltby-le-Marsh brothers Robbie and Sam Hewson were on tremendous form, just narrowly missing the shot to let the Cambridgeshire pairs in to take the title 4-3 in a thrilling final.

Lincolnshire ladies’ captain Paula “Kickass” Jacklin and her partner Shelley Bontoft-Gash also narrowly lost in the final to Welsh internationals Rhian Edwards and Alana Walters.

The Lincs pair took the first leg courtesy of a stunning 120 out by Jacklin, but the Welsh pair hit back with a 117 checkout by Edwards followed by a 107 checkout by Walters to take the title.
