New kurling league is about to hit Lincolnshire

A NEW age kurling league is being set up across Lincolnshire in February, and teams are being urged to enter.

Lincolnshire Sports Partnership is launching the new league after demand from the 20 clubs across the county incorporating more than 1,000 players.

Teams are made up of two people, and there’s no limit on how many teams can enter from each club.

Lincolnshire Sports Partnership will administer the league and sort out all the fixtures at the beginning of the season.

Amelia Buchanan from Lincolnshire Sports Partnership is organising the league. She said: “Clubs in Lincolnshire told us that they wanted to play other teams and play at a more competitive level, so working with the clubs and partners such as City of Lincoln Council, we’ve decided to set up this league which will officially start next month.”

The entry fee for the league is £10 per team, and even if you’re not part of a club yet, you can join and enter the league.

The deadline to register your team is Wednesday 18th January 2012, but entries may be accepted after this date.
