The new Louth Triathlon Club is going from strength to strength.
Members entered their first triathlon in Brigg in September. The sprint distances can be achieved by most with one of the members completing his first at the age of 67.
They are awaiting full affiliation to British Triathlon and have submitted a request for equipment funding to allow then to buy bikes, helmets and turbo trainers, so that members don’t have to buy an expensive bike in order to participate.
Chairman Simon Sharp said: “There are many of us in the club that have just completed our first triathlon, some training for their first and other very experienced ‘athletes’, all of which enjoy helping and sharing their experiences.
“If any of your readers have ever dreamed of completing a triathlon or just training with triatletes then joining Louth Triathlon Club is the first step.
“As a member you’ll benefit from coached swim sessions, turbo cycling sessions, discounted Meridian Leisure Fitness membership and further discounts our partners.
“We have just started taking members for 2013. Our membership costs just £20 for adults, £15 for students that are 18+ or £10 for students aged 16 to 18.”
They meet at the Meridian Leisure Centre. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
