LOUTH Superbike rider Peter Hickman concluded his pre-season test programme with a two day test which took at Brands Hatch and Snetterton circuits prior to the opening round of the 2012 British Superbike championship which kicks off at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.
Hicky is riding for the MSS Bathams Kawasaki team this year and the new livery was unveiled at the test and media day that took place at Snetterton last week; the striking new MSS bike livery impressed Kawasaki Motors UK staff as the machines reflected the corporate colours of both the Akashi company and choices of the latest generation Ninja ZX-10R.
Hicky commented: “The test days went very well and we were able to get dialled in ahead of the four day first round at Brands Hatch. We have a further test day at Brands Hatch on Good Friday and then it’s straight into the first round. I can’t wait to get on track at Brands Hatch and put the Kawasaki ZX- 10R through its paces under race conditions.”
Hicky will take part in the final two one-hour test sessions on Friday ahead of the first two free practice sessions on Saturday with the third on Easter Sunday at 10.55am.
The three stage qualifying session takes place on Sunday afternoon starting at 3.20pm and will determine the grid positions for Monday’s first 30-lap race around the short 1.2-mile Indy circuit which is due on track at 1.15pm.
Race two is set to follow at 4.15pm with grid positions determined by the fastest lap set in race one.
