Storr and Walker on top in Don McEwan Cup at Sandilands Golf Club

Mark Storr and Richard Walker shot 65 to come out on top in the recent Don McEwan Cup at Sandilands Golf Club.

A total of 26 members entered this four-ball better ball medal competition. Liam Needham and Paul Sharp came second with 66 and Tony Attwood and Charlie Kemp third with 67.

No players got 2’s on the day so a card draw was held which resulted in Tony Attwood, Chris Hillard, Melvyn Brown and David Hoare being successful.

All the presentations were made by Club Vice Captain Colin Slater.

A total of 21 seniors played in a Stableford Competition. Division A was won by Mick Rogers with 39pts. Brian Henchcliffe came second also carding 39pts but beaten on countback. Ken Ray won Division B with 37pts. New member Dave Kinchett also carded 37pts but was beaten into second place on countback.

Twenty four seniors played in a Stableford Competition very kindly sponsored by Dave Wright.

The seniors committee sponsored the halfway house where hot refreshments were served by Kate and Sue.

Division A was won by John Robson with 38pts. Dave Smith also carded 38pts but was pushed into second place on countback. Ken Ray hit 40pts, the best score of the day to win Division B. Phil Wilde came second with 37pts.

Seniors captain Tony Seward thanked Dave for his very kind sponsorship and also Kate and Sue for their hard work in the ‘halfway house’. Dave then presented the prizes.
